The Level 2 Advanced Event Group Specific Coach course gives coaches the opportunity to specialise in an event group of Sprints, Relays & Hurdles, Middle & Long Distance, Jumps, Throws or Walks.
This course is for the event group of Jumps.
Course Duration The Level 2 Advanced Coach course consists of a 2 day face to face component plus pre and post course assessment tasks.
The face to face component is split into two parts.
• Part A is for all Event Groups and covers the topics of The Essence of Coaching, Development & Maturation, General Conditioning, Skill Acquisition, Inclusive Coaching, Planning Training and Evaluating Progress and must be completed prior to undertaking Part B
• Part B is Event Group Specific covering the coaching and technical analysis of your chosen event group.
• Part A and Part B are taken seperately, with Part A undertaken before Part B and both days need to be undertaken to be accredited as a Level 2 advanced coach. Course Prerequisites Prior to undertaking Part B Jumps, Part A all event groups must be undertaken.
Prior to the commencement of the Level 2 Advanced Part A Coach course, it is required that coaches:
1. Have completed a Level 2 accreditation. This can be one of the following; Level 2 Intermediate Club Coach, Level 2 Club Coach or Level 2 Jumps Coach (which was delivered by Athletics Australia)
2. Have completed 50 hours or 6 months of coaching since completing Level 2 intermediate level accreditation and completed a log of the hours which needs to be submitted to Athletics Victoria – Those who have taken their Level 2 Intermediate level courses prior to the 1st July may submit the coaching history form in lieu of having a coaching log.
3. Have completed the pre-course assessments. Candidates for the Level 2 Advanced Coach course must be an Athletics Australia Accredited Athletics Coach and therefore will have met all the conditions of Accreditation.
