This is Part A of a two part course. Part B which is event specific needs to be undertaken as well prior to becoming accredited as a Level 2 advanced coach.
Part A is required to be undertaken prior to undertaking Part B The Level 2 Advanced Coach course gives coaches the opportunity to specialise in an event group of Sprints, Relays & Hurdles, Middle & Long Distance, Jumps, Throws or Walks. Course Duration The Level 2 Advanced Coach course consists of a 2 day face to face component plus pre and post course assessment tasks.
The face to face component is split into two parts.
• Part A is for all Event Groups and covers the topics of The Essence of Coaching, Development & Maturation, General Conditioning, Skill Acquisition, Inclusive Coaching, Planning Training and Evaluating Progress
• Part B is Event Group Specific covering the coaching and technical analysis of your chosen event group • Part A must be taken prior to undertaking Part B. Both days need to be undertaken to be accredited as a Level 2 advanced coach. Course Prerequisites Prior to the commencement of the Level 2 Advanced Coach course, it is required that coaches:
1. Have completed a Level 2 accreditation.
This can be one of the following; Level 2 Intermediate Club Coach, Level 2 Club Coach or Level 2 Event Group Specific Coach (which was delivered by Athletics Australia)
2. Have completed 50 hours of coaching since completing the first Level 2 accreditation and completed a log of the hours which needs to be submitted to Athletics Victoria. As the log book is a new requirement, for those who have undertaken their first level 2 accreditation prior to 1st July 2013 please request from ua.gro.civshta@eilyk a coaching background form to fill in.
3. Have completed the pre-course assessments. Candidates for the Level 2 Advanced Coach course must be an Athletics Australia Accredited Athletics Coach and therefore will have met all the conditions of Accreditation.
