After our premiership victory last week, many DAC athletes returned to Lakeside Stadium for weekend one of the Victorian Track & Field Championships and put on some amazing displays winning six gold, four silver and three bronze medals along with a plethora of final placings and Personal Best performances.
Our gold medallists were:
Abbey Gartlan (Under 20 Women Para Discus, 24.98m and Shot Put, 8.78m)
Tahlia Grace (Under 14 Women Pole Vault, 2.50m)
Anthony Jordan (Under 16 Men Para 100m, 12.19)
Owen Rice (Under 17 Men Hammer Throw, 56.21m)
Alessia Wynne (Under 18 Women 100m Hurdles, 14.24)
Silver medallists:
Petra Edwards (Under 17 Triple Jump, 11.02m)
Liam McLennan (Under 17 Men 5000m Walk, 27:14.39)
Owen Rice (Under 17 Men Shot Put, 14.17m)
Rachel White (Under 14 1500m, 4:56.95)
Bronze medallists:
Alana Mierisch (Under 18 Women High Jump, 1.63m)
Isabella Parrott (Under 15 Women Pole Vault, 1.80m)
Lachlan Reynolds (Under 15 Men 400m, 55.24)

On that note, we would like to put a call out to any members who are competing at the state Victorian Championships this weekend and can assist with our club helper duty. Thank you to Terry Carman, Jo Holland, Colleen Kelly and Heather Marasco who have already volunteered to assist with our duties, however we still need helpers for the following days/time slots/events:
Saturday 7th
12:30pm – 2pm 1 more helper required for Discus
2pm – 4pm 2 helpers required for Discus and 1 hurdle mover/track helper
4pm – 6pm 2 helpers required for Discus and 1 hurdle mover/track helper
Sunday 8th
3pm – 5:30pm 1 helper required for Discus and 1 helper required for Long Jump
